It's a WIP, but yes, I'm working on it. Thanks for your interest. :)

Shame on me for not commenting on this excellent initiative before :badday:
This is just what I've been looking for and I'll read through the equalizing tutorial now. Looks very easy-to-read

The tutorial is really well made  I sure learned a thing or two (like the trick with using two filters for a steeper slope). Seems like I already took the right approaches but this nicely teaches how to do things more accuarately  Now I'm curious how the other samples that aren't online sound before and after. Maybe that will help me identify those resonating frequencies that weren't really clear to me from the spectrum analysis image.

Thanks, I'll try to get to it, but I'm a bit preoccupied this week. There's supposed to be some text at the start that explains the filter slope in more detail, but I somehow hadn't gotten around to adding it yet. I want to be really sure about the samples before putting them up, plus I'm not sure how much hosting space I have and whether or not I'm going to exceed the bandwidth because of that. Another reason I need to buy my own space.

Anyway, there's a lot more to that article, like using corrective EQ to change the general tonal balance of a sound through wide boosts or cuts, or more narrow changes to target resonating frequencies, such as in the example already up. It's a lot of work still, but I'll try to keep on top of it.

whats the news now?

I really really need to learn to master. As i havent seen the need to learn to master, ive just ignored it. I dont know what compression or any of those words mean.

The most advanced mastering that i've done is running the wave file(the whole song= trough winamp using its EQ. I got a 9 and the reviewer commented it to be good mastering... :D

The status hasn't changed actually. Can't remember what happened. :?:

Why do you need to learn mastering though? I suggest you learn to improve your mixing instead, which is, after all, what this tutorial is all about. I might run through the previously mentioned compression tutorial and upload a refined version tonight, although the audio samples won't be available until I get around to doing them. Like they say, good things take time. :)

Then it's mixing you want.

Anyway, more blahness in progress here:

Probably better to check back in a few hours as there should be more (and updated) content by then.
