Or are you trying to recreate BotB "yeah I'm a rebel" way of replying? :)

Keep your filthy judgement to yourself, thank you.
Or are you trying to make an ass out of yourself?

Come on, a guy who replies "fuck genres just make music" to someone who asked "what is trip hop?" is just so offtopic...
I mean, it's great to have such and idea of making music, but don't overuse it by replying with "rebel words" just for the taste of it.

ehm, here's a good question: Why bother asking yourselfs why you create music?

This question could be placed next to: why study philosophy? Why think about the meaning of life? Why on EARTH don't I like cabbage?

The reason is simple - the will to understand. Understand things you don't have to understand to live. You don't have to understand why we are here and what the meaning of life is, but people keep returning to these subjects. WHY?

But hey: why ask why? :) And why ask why ask why? :)

Perhaps if you'd bother to read the topic's progress, you'll see the big WHY.
And although my approach to music may sound "rebel-like" in your ears, it's
altogether STILL my approach. And since this place here is a place to share
thoughts, hey .. why NOT?
And isn't your cryout of me being a rebel just as offtopic as my remark
according to your own standards of offtopicness? And to keep it interesting,
what do you care what I post in that topic, I wasn't even talking to you in the
first place and if Kcirr3d would have had problems with my remark, my guess is
that he would've told me. Not you. And you not to me.

I'm always in for a discussion but don't kick me in the cliché.
Back on topic now please.

I respect your way of composing.. i loved Jordy's funeral for example.
I was not criticizing that, but just the fact that reply sounded offtone to my ears.

And then: just because you weren't talking to me I should not tell you what I think? Bah...

Anyway, back to topic. We already had a flaming struggle about "words", so it's clear we have two very different ways of interacting with the world.

Farewell

I just have the weird feeling Partysan never intended his post to be taken too seriously... but I suppose I could be wrong. :)
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts.

I was reading something on Wikipedia that reminded me of this topic.

As quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-actualization:

Self-actualization (a term originated by Kurt Goldstein) is the instinctual need of a human to make the most of their unique abilities. Maslow described it as follows:

Self Actualization is the intrinsic growth of what is already in the organism, or more accurately, of what the organism is. (Psychological Review, 1949)

A musician must make music, the artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be. This need we may call self-actualisation. (Motivation and Personality, 1954.)

What kind of struck me by surprise is that self-actualisation, or the process of developing or achieving one's full potential, is supposedly an instinctual need. I wonder who decides all these things. Well, something to think about at 2:45 in the morning.

Why do we make music. There are so infinitly many answers to this. But I want to say the main one is because of the self satisfaction. That goes for me at least :)
I get incredibly much pleasure out of music creation.

I write music because I choose to.

Standard neo philsophy :D That, and because I've lived around musicians all my life... it's natural that I'd want to go into a field my parents are in. Oh, and I suppose because I have at least some mediocrum of talent in composition as well ;)
