I like to hear and maybe give a review(i must admit that i am very bad at that) of songs that are listed here. But for me it is a extra overcome that i the link that the artist have provided is just a link to another site. And that is something that i find time consuming and it very often leads to that i dont listen to that song at all. Is it possible to force people to have a direct dowload.
And also another issue that i have is that i have to download the entire song before i can listen to it. It would be easier for me to just, stream the entire song in winamp. It is faster and will make listen to more songs and probrably sive more reviews. As we see that the number of songs that have not gotten any reviews is increasing.

No, that's not possible. As far as I know, it's technically impossible, although I'm not about sure about that. People who dont have a directlink to their song, could still write the music that everyone wants to hear, so I dont see a reason to kick them off this site. We like to be a open minded community

When you want to write a proper review, you have to listen to the song atleast twice right? I mean, in order to write a good and detailed review, a song needs to be listend to twice.. (atleast).. I think that making a streaming option, wouldn't be used bt many users, and I think that it could make the quality of the reviews lower. It's not THAT much work to download a song right?

well, imho streaming would be a nice addition. not sure if it would bring more reviewers at all but still, it would make things a tad more comfortable

There are quite a few sites that do allow direct linking. Also, it happens that people link to their artistpages on other sites even though that host allows direct linking. At least I stumbled over such a case at least once.
I don't think we'll ever start hunting those indirect links down, or accept "bad link" reports on them, but I would propose that it be mentioned that it's a little against an unwritten 'etiquette' to link to other sites. Also, perhaps encourage putting the file elsewhere, because there ARE hosts that allow this and they are FREE.
To put it short, the less you make your listeners click, the more respect you show them. |

actually i wanted to write that you don't have to see DI because of the direct linking already done by Ace but i see that it's not present any longer o_O
