Does anyone here struggle finding the time and effort to make music??
I work full time now (not a scabby dole-man anymore sadly!),
and the minute I get home from work after a long, hard day.. I just want to snuggle up with me missus and do feck all..
But in my heart I KNOW I want to find the time to make music.. it just dont happen.
Been like this for a month or so now.
Any suggestions?
Anyone else feel the same way?

| Everyone who has life and job or studies know what you mean. There just isn't enough time for everything ... |

Sometimes I wish I actually wanted to do some bleeding recording, or in my case mastering. A lot of the time I'm just not in the right mood or state of mind to do anything. Like, some days my hearing is super sensitive, other days my mind can't hear a thing...while on other days I can't read a single word, and other days I just have the urge to write rather than read the countless production tutorials and eBooks I still have waiting to be read.
No use fighting it. I just do what needs to be done when it comes my way as best I can. Sucks, but I'm only human after all.
Maybe being constraint by time is exactly what I need actually. And I should probably lay off the caffeine and other mind-altering substances.

I have just the exact problem I and I know how you feel. Moreover, I don't feel like turning on my comp even on weekends! So last year I made like more then 20 tunes and this year I made less then 10.

I have the same problem..
When I get home, there's still mountains of work laying about
and wholly fark, do I wanna make music!! A bad side effect I
also stumble upon is that tracks get less attention than they need.
Time for holidays again..?
But on the other hand, my 'remedy' for this problem is taking a big
toll from the good night's sleep and work on tracks at nighttime.
Funny thing, it seems to influence the sound as well.
I guess that sacrifices must be made for the sake of making music.
Valuable time, energy and effort.. phew.. we must be pretty gawddamned crazy!
In the end, I don't really have a solution.. just don't EVER TOTALLY stop or
anything, deal? Hmmkay? Good.

there are a few simple ways in which yo could gain time.
stop posting/reading on forums
stop using instant messengers.
Check your email no more than once or twice a day.
In my case this would give me more or less an hour (or 2!) more time for music
little things add up. Stop doing little things which are unnecessary and you're bound to have some time for music.

well, there's no need to be afraid of taking pauses too. There aren't enough hours in the day for everything, I don't even have time for any music creation when I'm deep into the "Within a Deep Forest" project.
Basically, if you want to spend time doing something, you must sacrifice something else. I feel very happy about my choises atm though.
