good one, slammy :P

in spite i wouldn't say no to getting payed for my music, i kind of agree to what BotB said in the first place.

anyways, i would pay for a completely new studio, not just because it would help out musicwise, but it would definitely help me out someway :?:

oh don't get me wrong, I accept the money for my music
I have bills to pay too, y'know and hey.. THEY'RE crazy enough to actually PAY.

but y'know.. there's a difference between paying a musician
and putting a price on his head or on his music. but I won't start this
discussion AGAIN so I'll leave it at that, heh

:P

a lot of sympathy for prostitution on this website, by the way..

I would pay for a studio engineer to master my music I guess, but I still think those guys are overpayed, so I don't know.. Maybe when I'm rich.

After reading the entire post, I must say that I agree with Boom 100%.

Although, I wouldn't mind swimming in money.. who would? But I would never sell my pride and soul to obtain such a goal.. money is after all.. just bits of paper.

I want to make money of something that makes me feel proud and inspired.
I don't want to feel proud and inspired because I make money.

Id pay for some good mixing recording abilities..

Actually Ive already paid thousands in tuition fees when I was at Uni..

Shame most of the stuff I learnt was on my own accord rather than going to that crap University eh?

I paid for one of my tracks (not uploaded here) to be mastered by pros at the end of last year. I used imastering who seem to be a solid outfit and came recommended by FM. They have mastered tons of tracks that are famous worldwide and are worthchecking out.

I waited in anticipation for 3 days and finally got my wav file back. The result was encouraging. I mean, I dont want to beat my own chest or anything, but their mastering wasnt really much better than the best of mine (also not uploaded to ctg yet); I think it was because I know my own tunes better than anyone.

My point is, that with continued determination and with very little in the way of VSTs and other equipment such as hardware, it is possible to attain a pro sound. My suggestion would therefore not worry too much about buying the best gear, it is ez to think that if you buy logic and a virus or whatever your tunes will be wicked, rather concentrate on developing your writing and mastering skills instead.
