as for your tune, I am confused about it. The second instrument definetely shows chords, but it at the same time plays something more like a bassline... hmm... Or else your chords change every tick |
The bass note also determines what chord it is. You know, when you write like Dm/A, for a D minor with A in the bass. Yeah, it is a little like a bassline too - at the other hand, without the bass notes, the chords would automatically become different. The part at 0:21 would for example be quite strange without them.

that's great initiative. But try to compose the best you can. get those links I posted and you will hear what wonderful tunes you can write. Some of those midi tunes have more complex second instrument, but it is usually traditional. Say, in waltz the supporting guitar plays chords like boom-cha-cha, boom-cha-cha, but that is easily replaced with just chords.

Naah It's just a chip sample played with no resampling. I don't think it's similar to any analog synth (or FL's 3 osc one) at all.

Well, I guess it could be possible to create a similar sound - it's quite a basic sound really, pretty sine-like, and perhaps using oscillator sync is the best way to get similar harmonics
The only thing that wouldn't sound the same is the artifacts from the no-resampling blahness, but for me, that's a rather big difference (it becomes quite obvious when the sound has vibrato).

I see,
I don't work that much with vibrato's and sample's, I allmost never do.
I'm a check out some songs of you soon.
since I really haven't got a clue what the "newer" online generation is doing with music these days.
Haven't been around for 3 years so, haven't heard of you before, don't kill me if this is an insult
