This site has no "license" because none of the music is actually stored here and all the artists have their own terms. Good luck.

It has nothing to do with the moderators. Absolutely nothing.
Please read through this thread for more information: http://www.ctgmusic.com/topic.php?id=5290

Anyway, to answer the question ... I believe that if he will not be profiting from it, then all is well. However, I'm not really sure of this.
Anyone among us actually get their stuff played on the radio, real or web? How does licensing usually work?
I'm just brainstorming here, but isn't there some sort of FCC fee for hosting a webradio station in the US? I'm just thinking of the many shoutcast servers that play the same commercial stuff that real radio stations play - surely there's some money exchanging hands there (although I personally feel there shouldn't be)? I can't imagine the big labels not wanting to get their greedy paws on that source of income.
Asking the artist you want to stream would probably be a good idea. Personally, I would like to know where my music is being played. :-P
My newest tracks:
A New Vision (vocal edit feat. Henriette)
Bounty Killer - Fed Up (sonus remix)
Kcirr3d & Sonus - Project Geestdrijver |

When the artist permits it there is no problem.

This is a good point actually.
Because this site doesn't have any licensing agreements with the authors with respect to other sites using this as a basis for shoutcasting live streams, you technically have to get an agreement with every artist involved. Now, most people would be happy and don't mind either way, but just keep in mind that if you catch the one seriously fucked up and anal bastard who takes offence to what you're doing, you're not legally secure unless you got his agreement first.
Still, I'm sure that I can speak for the majority when I say that I don't mind. Hell, we'd probably feel quite proud if you even tell us. :>

I would also like to point out that by throwing your music onto this site, you've effectivly put it in the public domain right?
Anyhow, I too wouldn't mind it one bit.
(then again, i'd love to see how anyone would manage streaming a module file onto radio hehehehe )
