Well, I am still looking for more artists to participate in this research.

Well, I think it's just dandy that you decided to post your info here, instead of emailing the man as he wanted you to. I really doubt that he'll come back here to see your replies...

in my opinion, face to face isnt best. reason: people tell what they really mean when its not face to face. its harder to say "naw man, this is bullshit" face to face.

I would say that. That's probably why I don't have any musician friends in real life
Kidding, of course.

1. On forums at some musical sites and I use every opportunity in non-Internet life too, by spreading links to my music among people with who I work and meet(so perhaps that is too Internet related promotion).
2. This is a tough question. At first to get some recognition as a good musician. Possibly for self-confidence or as they also say: ego boost. Also I was very keen on getting a contract with a record label.(which I finally got) Today my reasons are unselfish and I don't really pay much attention to promotion. I like that my music is free and I am doing it for self-expression, to share it and be part of the community.
3. Forums, ICQ, my personal website.
4. Well. I don't understand the question, to be honest. What kind of behaviour? Towards my music or towards my promotion? If towards my music, I think every musician, including myself, gains a certain audience as time goes by. People who get to know his music, appreciate it and await his next release. If towards promotion, I hardly promote nowadays. Usually post a topic in spam forums which gets views but no replies.
5. I have experienced a very definite disadvantage: on-line promotion, as any other promotion, is huge work with little feedback. You can literally spend months promoting your tunes and never get any significant result. Real promotion that has results is a lot of money involved. So mainly, self promotion on the Internet is plain luck or huge labour.
6. I feel that it gave me an understanding that composing music and promoting are two different jobs and I think I'm better at composing.
