Well, I remember reading somewhere that an undergrad built an electron gun and a small "reactor" during his early years. I don't remember offhand where I read the article though (incidentally I believe he later went into the USN).
You'd be surprised what you can do with a few DIY tools and some smooth talking.

Heh, that's pretty cool! One of my coworkers does similar stuff, and the amount of "gear" he has is growing. He recently purchased a lathe and now has various milling tools.

As a matter of fact there are chiefs there that understand that they ask us to do bullshit thingz but they cannot do otherwise while they have their own orders from their higher chiefs...Nevertheless, many of them are totally dumb and complexed personalities  Many times, army is totally out of logic and really unfair, just like real life - as they say- which seems to be not fair as well. I find really  ing to choose acting unfairly but, generally that's how army is

The only way u can be discharged is by playing u r totally insane, psycho or gay. In that case u will have a *sign* all your lifetime that says u r an official lunatic and u will never find a *normal* job cause noone will hire u. So if your dad is not rich, this is not the best choice is it?
