Undoubtedly, music will still physically exist. People have a need to own music - cds for instance - as long as its something in form. At least that's what I belive.
As for my self, I'll do everything I can to make a living of music, be it selling albums or making comercial music.

no idea
Some memories are crippling
Don't let the disease bring us down
There's nothing else to know, just let it go
We'll do without it somehow

Ditto with Cooth.
Only...
In ten years I should have a more senior position either as an academic (god forbid) or in a company, which means more £££ ----> More equipment/samples/computers/electricity bills.
Which means ultimately it'll take me an entire year for a single track.

ill most likely be travelling from space station to space station doing mini concerts for various species. either that or fighting x-wings in the tatooine area (while listening to xerxes on the intergalactic radio). well. its those who dream and its those who live their dream isnt it, so, ok, (maybe not so realistic but) in 10 years time i would like my music to be used in films and/or tv programmes. i think thats where it fits best. i dont see myself as a "cd artist" or having concerts and things like that, im too shy for that..
how can i do that? i need a better studio. a better mic. another board. some good studio monitors. maybe some analogue compressors, a d/a converter. and i need to learn the art of mastering. and i need to walk to offices, in numbers, and be good at presenting myself and my music.
someone said "i aim for the moon and if i miss i end up among the stars". if we put our aims up high, it changes us, pushes ourselves further. maybe we wont reach our highest goal but it will take us much further than if we didnt have a goal at all, most probably. and doing the same thing tomorrow as we did today will take us just where we are today wont it, we need something to aim for, something new, new ideas, new gear, we need to read books and travel, get inspired, its a combination of being a creative soul and a good craftsman imho.
unfortunately im not good at these things myself, i know the theory but im not confident enough to make it happen, as yet. good reviews and a random email from someone who bumped into my site and liked my music helps a lot though.
excellent question btw!
just my 2 cents anyway ___ |

It'll always be a hobby of mine, no doubt. Its seriousness depends on various breaks I might or might not have.
On stage and in tours, if my band is succesful in the hardcore scene, or if I end up joining a succesful band, is the most likely succesful story I can imagine.
