I have some wonderful realistic bass soundfonts. I can share them with you, but let's continue with PMs.

I use Spectrasonics Trilogy is a great bass rompler filled with all different types of bass sounds (including a huge selection of live patches, sinnce you're doing rock). The library is 3 gigs!!

I also sometimes use Steinberg's VB-1, which is a free cheapo bass VSTi. With some processing, it could sound good by itself or as another layer.

Otherwise, I'll just create some sort of sine/square patch on any synth, distort, eq, and compress it, and that's it!

This summer I'm going to start recording live basslines, and I'll probably end up layering with one of the above-mentioned methods.
My newest tracks:
Quench
A New Vision (vocal edit feat. Henriette)
Bounty Killer - Fed Up (sonus remix)
Kcirr3d & Sonus - Project Geestdrijver

Why don't you just throw them up on Rapidshare or something? If they were aquired for free, I don't believe you would be breaking any rules by doing so, assuming you link us to the original package (including the soundfont creator's name, any license, and other info).

I step-record all my basslines the good olg tracker way. As for the sounds, I have about 3 samples I usually use for basslines, all of them are always heavilly porcessed, so they sound different every time.

One of them is a sample of a synth from Buzz, which I pitch down a few octaves, it worked very nice with a few lp filters and distortions in "Skyscraper".

plz tell me if we'll ever hear you play bass live in a track :D

Won't happen till I buy a better soundcard and a pre-amp (or a decent bass amp with line output).
