What are everyone's thoughts on spamming??

I've seen alot of people write that its a really cheeky thing to do, and a bit 'lame'.

May i ask why? If I have released a song, I want people to know it's there and download and listen to it!!

So eat this you mothers

Spam

PS - I didnt put this in the spam thread cos its a discussion

But you sneaked spam into this discussion... I wonder if that should be moderated. :)

As for spamming, I have nothing against, that's what spam secion on this forum is for. Another thing is, I never follow spam posts (I just moderate them if they're written in CAPS :) ).

Yet another thing is - the style of spamming. If it's like "You little creatures, check out my godly MUSIC, if you download now, you will get a free download, later you have to pay $100!!!" - then yeah, I guess ppl will start bashing the dude. If he writes "Hey, please check out my song, thanks", they'll probably just innocently tell him to write reviews. :)

Hmm, I guess so. I frequently check out the spamming bit of the forum tho. If my fav artists here are releasing a new song, I want to know..

But thats just what I think.

I agree with you about the over-spamming thing.. lol.. little creatures

Yes, it's all in how you spam, writing a humble topic that your latest song just came out is all fine and dandy, especially when you make it a bit fun to read aswell :D

But, people who automate spam and aggregate them onto multiple boards around the ether are below contempt really, they don't care about who really is interested in their product, all they care about is a sale.

so, to me all their automated spam is saying is "I don't care about you, I just want your money!" or if the product is free "I just want your download!"

But, the best type of spam is the scams, so easily seen through, so easily laughable :D

Haha! Yes they crack me up "hey guys, have you heard of this guy? He's amazing!! Anyway just thought you should know, here's his link"... pffft

OK then.. for the record I will still keep spamming. I was just a bit concerned that perhaps overrall it was seen as being a harsh thing (im new to the music scene so dont really know).. I just want people to hear me tunes and tell me if they like it or not.

PS the bucket is still available but only or a limited time only. New deal tho, buy one bucket get the other free

I personally hate spaming, and worst of all, sneaky spamming like this. Why cant you just do as the rest of us? Write music, uploade, write reviews, get more "known", and wait. Reviews will come. Or is it just the download number that means anything to you? ..

spamming is pretty lame but its part of music making!
its one way to inform people that know i have done the song!
I am lazy at spamming...

I have nothing against other people spamming (generally I agree with Cooth).

However, when it comes to spamming my own music I agree with Xtatic: I hate it! I don't want to push anyone into listening to my stuff. That'd make me feel like a business man who just wants to advertise and sell his product. Eventually, people will find their way to my artist page :P
