How do we market ourselves and indirectly our productions if we are this or that? Does it matter if someone feels offended by how we act? |
I don't market myself. No matter how good I am in a friendly talk, my music won't become better, would it? If it's shit and I still promote it, well - more people will download it and make sure it is really shit.
And anyway, I am surprised to hear these words from you. So you are being at forums to be more popular? I think not. Then why write such rubbish in the first place?
Does it matter if someone feels offended by how we act? Yes, it does to me. But that doesn't mean that I am going to be a bon-bon and be sweets and honey all over. This is ridiculous and I am not being sweet and honey in real life all the time as this makes everybody sick. Ever came upon a person who is dreadfully afraid to hurt your precious feelings? If yes, then you know how disgusting it is.

You seem to be argument hungry. I'll leave it at that for the time beeing.

While I agree with what you're saying, 1up, how do you know what my tone is anyway? You are after all influencing the tone as well, perhaps even more so than I set out to intend. Maybe I did come across a bit direct, but I never intended to offend. I was merely trying to give my impression of the track, just in a not-so-subtle way. I did think later, "What if it had been someone just starting out?", but as I understand you've been at it for a while, so I was just a bit surprised to hear something so off (imo). I know that's probably not helping, so maybe I should just put it down to different tastes again.
That being said, you might just want to rethink your level of bass though, because I deal with tonal balancing all the time and I can honestly say that your 'tone' is off. OK, bad pun. Oh, and at least turn those sporadic chords down. I think they only take the focus away from the lead. But anyway, back to your topic.

Hey I really like that 2nd part you did. Some comments:
- It's completely different than the first part, for now it's ok, but I would suggest that we create a new "bridge" bettween my part and yours
- You left out the constant high-mids playing softly in the background, so it sounds a bit empty, but on the other hand everything is just faster and there's some nice rhythm. Could work as a nice Part C of the whole thing.
As for me, it can stay like it is, but not just after my part.
1up, can you try to make a bridge? I'm eager for my turn.

I think the first two hits makes a good break, but like you say, the style is a tad different thereafter. I'll see what comes up. Can't make any promises as to what exactly. Hang in there!
I particularly like the fast jazzy lead you've come up with L.V.!
A fast question - is it fully compatible effect wise with FT2 or it's new PC clone I know Decibelter use? If so I will use it instead since I tracked in it years ago.

Hm. I am not sure. I remember reading somewhere that some special effects are not. But I don't remember us using anything fancy, so.. yeah. I think so.
