As they are now, it's perfect! I find it "possible" to read and reply to every thread I want. A bit more and I wouldn't be able to catch up.
Really, I almost do 200-300 hits on CTG daily just because of forums.
A proud member of CTGMusic Community!

I think we all want a deeper knowledge base around here. Aswell as added diversity. Both that and fresh new blood will do us all good. Question is: Why aren't so many members attracted to beeing active in the forums to begin with? Maybe they are shy, or more probable, the forums aren't that attractive to begin with?
How can we adress that issue?

Personally, I don't want to address it, since I don't see it as a problem.

I doesn't have to be a problem to adress. Let's talk about how to make something better?
But if you are pleased with how it is, there might still the chance that a larger more wide forum with bigger activity will please you more.

I think the problem is very similar as in real life. When you are pushed into big group of people who you dont know, it takes time that you get used to them. Also people usualy prefer one or two communites in which they spent most of their online time, so its hard to expect from someone to start spending lots of time right away in whole new community.
And another thing is that i belive this community is very connected, people know each other so for a newcomer this might seems as to big chalange to get in such role by himself aswell. Also its hard to motivate people to start posting in forums.. usualy it starts when they have a question or need a help.
Maybe it would help if we would have an "introduct yourself" forum, where all the new members could say hello and write a short cv.

That's an interesting way for newcomers to find common ground with others.
Hello, my name is 1up. "Hello, 1up.", echoes the choir.

Maybe that's a mentality that keeps people from getting in to the community?
