But it all ends somewhere... I mean, a 9/8 track won't sound good anymore...
It's either (2), 3, 4, 5, (6), 7 and (8) where it might get interesting. I mean, who will pay attention to the beat on a 37/8 track?

there are 9/8 tracks out there, especially in the jazz standards, and even 10/8 and 12/8. But it stops at 12/8. And 12/8 can be thought of as a 4/4 but with a triplet between each beat.
But why do you say 9/8 won't sound? Because 9/8 is like a 3/4 but same as above, with a triplet on each beat, instead of two 8th notes...

I am going to make a track without trying to make it mildly interesting at all. Still, it'll be awesome because I'll do it in a time signature that isn't common time. rite rite?

I was listening to a 7/8 jazz piece the other day and actually haven't found it to be especially weird. Actually, you don't pay any attention to it at all - the melodies and the beat just go and seem okay.

there's nothing weird about any time signature..
just because something isn't commonly used on the bloody radio,
doesn't make it weird or anything.. if Sesamestreet taught you
how to count to whatever, you can make whatever time signature.
it's about WHAT you DO with the specific signature. like the jazz you
mentioned which wasn't weird at all, compared to venetian snares'
renoise vid posted a while back, which was in 7/8 as well.
