how is it possible that a song with a overall rating of 7 can place 1st on the top songs charts?  |

from the FAQ:
How do the top 100 charts work?
The charts are based on the previous day and last 7 days activity only. What counts for each song is: number of reviews, number of downloads and the rating of course. But only from the last week, so the overall downloads or reviews do not have any effect on the charts position.

The hottest song right now should be Andy Blueman - Time to Rest. And it is on sec. place! But check its rating. From 9-10 of 6 reviews!

I think all songs with a rating of >2 should be banned from the charts, on the grounds that they're too professional to compete.

Charts work exactly like the commercial charts works, downloads=sales...... Personally, I think alot of the music on here is far better than whats on the Billboard charts right.... the difference is, the crap in the billboard charts are being bought by the masses, and the music on here, is not.
I'm actually quite disappointed by the mentality of this post - just because someone was rated a 7/10, that doesnt automatically mean they cannot achieve popularity. For the same reason, anyone who achieves 10*10/10 reviews, cannot just *expect* to achieve popularity.
This site isn't here to beef up the ego's of people by allowing only the elite to rate high in the charts.
Byte-smasher deserves a medal for treating this topic with the contempt it deserves.
