I using Fl-7 and I think that is very friendly for me. I'm working about 6 years mayby more. For Mastering I'm using Wave Lab. He is using VST plugins so All what I need.

I contest OpenMPT (Modplug Tracker) being for "classic modules". I do all of my work with OpenMPT (plus some really good VSTs, like Kontakt). :)

A great Audio Editor is Cakewalk's Audio Creator. It's very easy to use... for a newbie like me. In seconds, I recorded my voice tracks.. no problem. I also use AC to organize my MP3s on my desktop. Definitely add this one to the list!
