Allright! I'm getting pretty sick of this layout, and I bet you are too. If not, then please don't help. Just click away ;)

Okay. I know there are a lot of people who wish CTG to have a layout change. And of course, I am one of them. The trick, however, is that it could take a lot of time, and people don't have a lot of free time. But if we gather around a hand-full of people to do certain things, I bet we can make this change happen.

There are some issues, of course. Talking to Frank, he told me that there is some part of a CSS, and the other backgrounds and stuff are hard coded into the php files. Now, that'll be the most time consuming part.

The reason I started this thread is because I want to initiate a movement, to rally up people who are capable of firing up Photoshop and scribble a few lines and color a few backgrounds.

(1) The first thing for us to do is decide whether to have a complete change in the layout, or just some color schemes. And see who'd like to help out...

For whoever would like to help, in the smallest way possible (like making a top-banner or coming up with some cool #439AA8 colors) please reply here. And for everybody else, please vote in the poll.

Let's make v2.0 come a reality!

Sounds good to me. I could hack away at CSS and PHP.

Maybe a new colorscheme and header would be nice :)
but I would not change a thing about the content and the way things are placed within the page.

this lay-out is very easy to use and well, it's just gets you where you want to go, so if there was to change anything maybe just another header and another colorscheme. imho
Howdie!

I'd just like to propose a few more color schemes, primarily towards the warmer spectrum, and definently the removal of the rather redundant girl and eyes graphics since they don't really fit with the site's "new" motto "come to get music"

But, please note that I'm not condoning that CTG moves onto the "web 2.0" philosophy since I think that whole idea is complete and utter bullshit which is used to convey a sense of hype from a business perspective.

Xaimus: Great!

Masenka: That's a great idea

John: The warmer spectrum, what did you have in mind? Oh, and I didn't mean v2.0 like that - in a business kind of way. Just as in the changes being made...

Some color schemes would be nice. However, what I don't like about those projects that involve an online community is that they usually don't work. People talk about it and then nothing happens.

Cdnalsi, well, basically just shifting the color from the colder blue scheme to a more "warm" scheme like orange, gold, yellow, purple even, green , and of course a monochrome grey scheme aswell, the sky's the limit, and I think it's fairly simple to do aswell.

Cdnalsi, if you want a quick dirty idea of what I'm talking about, just take a screenshot of CTG, throw into photoshop, and throw some hue alterations on it and you'll get my point :D

botb: thanks ;)
Louigi: I'm just trying to get everyone's opinion about this, and if nobody will actually help, I'll do what I can myself...
John: That's great!

Alright, here's a quick mspaint sketch of what I mean, it looks horrible, but it should give everyone an idea about what I'm talking about.

My crappy paint butcher of CTG

Edit: come to think of it, CTG could use a new main banner because my suggestion looks
a whole bit empty doesn't it? .. then again, I don't even have those goooooo (insert two pages more of o's) gle ads that obscure a part of the page either.
