I got myself a ton of capicators, gonna make an aluminum pellet tonigt. Just need myself a couple of conducting rails (preferably copper) and a huge electromagnet (thinking of making it myself, they are really expensive).
For those that don't know, a gauss gun can shoot pellets at MANY times the speed of bullets, they are actually thinking of using a gauss gun to shoot a satellites into space

I don't think aluminium will work. It's not magneticly conductive, at least not in the sense that you want to use it. If yours is going to be ased on a linear motor, your projectile needs to react within the electromagnetic field of your coils. As far as I know aluminium is possibly the worst material you could use for this. Unless you have some unconventional plans.
Where did you plans come from? A good resource for this is 4hv.org.

Well, actually I decided to go with the railgun so
you misunderstand, when a particle moves in a magnetic field, it gets a magnetic force perpendicular to both the movement of the electron and magnetic field. It is not neccicary for the aluminum itself to conduct magnetism, the current is conducted by the bullet to be accelerated....
Didn't really get the plan anywhere. I know my physics, thats all.
