CHRISTMAS COMPO 2006 DISCUSSION
Time to launch this year's Xmas Compo! Lots of fun are waiting, but we have to set this year's rules. So, please, write your suggestions to make a more "democratic" Compo this year.
---Last years' rules---
Christmas Compo 2003:
The rules are very simple:
- 1. You must do a remix of a well known Christmas song.
- 2. You must submit your remix by the end of 23th December!
Christmas Compo 2004:
- 1. You need to do a remix of a well known, popular commercial song. You can choose an instrumental track or a song with singing, in any genre, but we advise you to pick a popular, well-known one, at least which is known by our community well.
- 2. You need to submit your remix by the end of 23th December!
- 3. We believe we do not have to empahise, that you cannot use any samples from the original track in your remix!
Christmas Compo 2005:
Kricke edited his post and I can't see the rules, but the main one was -> Do your completely own christmas-based song.
I'll also need suggestions about voting system. We can adopt 2005 system. It was OHC based and it worked perfectly imho.

| I think the very meaning of "remix" implies that it is the original version using original samples of the original artist but in another style or tempo. If not, it's a cover or a remake. |

I'd like it to be remixing of famous carols like Silent Night and Joy To The World and such..
And BTW, nice flashy, but the girl is plain ugly...

Yes... I think it's the best idea.... or... why not? How about remixing of famous CTG songs giving them some christmas taste? I mean Christmasize famous CTG songs! Or even better!!!! How about Christmasizing one of your own songs?

So what exactly are the rules now?
I definitly will take part, always great fun.
I'm fine with any rules, but, hmm, I think I would like the idea of making an own tune, since there are already soo many remixes of known tracks.
I think Pluks or somebody should just say what it will be and then lets get going. 
We need deadline, reviewingsystem (last years worked quite well).

That's why I opened this topic. We'll form the rules depending on opinions. Just write what you'd prefer this year and we'll soon have the rules.
