| well, only thing that bothers right now is that everyone is getting theyr traxx uploaded without even Rating one song for it, this rule should be hardened a bit , for example "You can not add song , You Can Wait for 3 *Days and Write 2 reviews or write 5 Reviews right now" Review number aind decreasing since it reaches 2, then everyone just have to Write at least 2 reviews |

If it gets much stricter you run the risk of quantity of quality, there was a scenerio here a while back where somebody left on the account of he was a real talented guy and yet he got loads of reviews by the same poeple giving 5-6 out of 10 saying it wasn't their sort of thing and they didn't get it,,, why the hell review it then???
there are plenty of unreviewed tracks within the genres they are familier with.
you seem to get folk into pop and mainstream reviewing avant garde/progressive stuff leaving reviews saying where's the melodies? where's the structure? WTF
If someone reviews my stuff and points out the productions/mix is weak, fair enough, but if i get reviews from folk that don't get it, with that whole "it's not a classic pop song" mentality, i'll dismiss as negative criticism, in fact i'd regard it as a collection of letters wasting space on my page. If i get a 1 out of 10 review from someone who loves the genre of music i've chosen and knows what they're talking about, i won't be offended in the slightest, not everybody creates music to "make it" to create the classic pop song, i make music for myself, if other people like it, lovely.
If more creatively talented artists get reviews from blinkered narrow minded folk we'll lose more and more, and no i wouldn't describe myself as talented. |

Ok. Idea.
Let's get rid of chart and review system. Let's just have comments. And we can have a thumbs up and thumbs down, like the potw. And we could not totally get rid of the charts system, but have a ranking of best songs. Somehow have it only based on the thumbs up thumbs down votes.
This was total ranting because the idea came to me as I wrote this, but I really like it! |

You dont completely get rid of reviews, that will be too radical!
What you could do instead is LINK the charts system to the thumbs up and down system and the reviews could be conducted without having to leave a rating, serving as a tool for feedback.
The rating subjectivity has been a point of debate eversince i joined ctg!
Maybe this would be a good way to solve the debate. Instead of having 7 out of 10 for example you could have '100  ' or '40  '. This way the charts would be even more lively and representative of popularity!
Better to live one day as a lion than a hundred years as a sheep.

That's sort of what I meant when I said remove reviews but leave comments. Just have a feedback system with no score. |
