This is exactly the problem. I've already put forward ideas which have been agreed on, it's been said it'll be done - and a month or so later, still nothing has happened.
Pardon me for my negativity - but I'm sick of seeming to be struggling alone to get things done.

Change the site's colours to limegreen and see how many people are willing
to help out all of a sudden. I guarantee it will get the ball rolling! And all you
need to do is filter all CTG's graphics and reupload them or something! Wow!
Slammy, you're not alone. This topic popping up every once in awhile for months
is proof of the members' dedication to the site. It just needs an impulse to generate
more liveliness. Nobody wants to carry a carcass, right ?

absolutely! Yes, there are people keep dragging this up, and yes members seem willing to want to push on with CTG - yet the ones that are able to code, are not coming forward and saying 'Drumstick, mind if I help you out with the immense responsiblity you have'.....
EDIT: The problem is, the task of maintaining CTG code, and re-coding CTG, cant lie solely on one persons shoulders. Not unless they can make it a full time job - which isn't an option.
We'll see what happens I guess

This poll has been on for a really long time.. Like some of you say.. There are always people who whant CTGs review changed. Heck, i'm one of them. Look at all the songs, and look at the reviews. Hmm... Most of the songs aren't even reviewed, and I wonder why.. Because one have to write a freakin' essay to get a song rated. OK you can argue that a couple of sentences isn't that hard to write. And I do agree on that one. And yes you can argue that if you are bad in writing english you should learn it anyway, and yes it's nice to get constructive critisism when you have used several days, hours perhaps months on a song, i don't know. And finally yes we do have the comments here on CTG, but who uses them? Almost none of us.. Lets be honest: The ones who rewievs songs here on CTG is are few. You can see the same names on the frontpage every week. "The best reviewers are...." well.. what an honor.. In my opinion it's better to get a review like: Yeah this rocks! score: 10.
I meen, so what if its not a complete review like you read on trance.nu, face it.. we are not journalists we (alteast me, myself and I) are amateures who love feedback on our music. We love composing, and YES we ofcourse want to do better and would like to get some hints and tips, but something is better than nothing. I don't know the vision of CTGs creators, but I belive it's better to have an active community where people communicate with eachother, then an inactive community where you just post a link to your songs and hope for the best. Maby you check the charts from time to time and thats it.. This sucks people.. I won't argue about this anymore.. As I said earlier: this poll and discussion has been going on like 4 ever! And please DO SOMETHING. Eighter you put it away and hide the truth, or you do some changes.
Thats it for me!
Thank you for your time.. Respect to all of you music lovers out there!

The biggest problem is how much time it takes to write a review
What if instead of writting reviews there was a multiple choice test first . For example
"You do not like the song because :
a) Too repetetive
b) Bad sound quality
c) Bad mixing"
This way the review is made easier, faster and with less nonsense.
Here is a sample of the type of review I think it is more easy for the reviewer.

i agree with u, certainly it's less "romantic" and less poetic than many reviews here but who take care about it?

What if the current system was left intact, but other options were added in paralell? What a rating was put together from a combination of, say:
* A review (If present) (10 weight)
* A rating attached to a the first comment by each commenting user. (5 weight)
* And an option to thumbs up or thumbs down the tune to also affect the rating. (1 weight)
So say a tune had a review, two comments, and five thumb-up/down votes on it, it's score could be a maximum 25/25 (10 stars), or if it had 2 comments and 3 thumb-up/down votes, then it's score could be a maximum of 13/13 (10 stars)
Maybe something like that would stop the griping...
