Does anybody out there know which are the plug-ins that provide you with the most genuine psy/goa sounds in FL Studio?
Thanx ;)

Hi Ero,

I suppose you are not excluding non-free plugins, because most of the best are not free.

There are many, here are a few:

- Novation V-Station
- reFX Vanguard
- Superwave Professional
- Superwave Trance Pro

Mainly these aiming for trance-like songs, but there are many other plug-ins which contain default presets which you can use for your psy/goa tracks.

For drums etc. I mostly use some samples instead of plug-ins, but that depends on the quality of your sample or plug-in and what you prefer.

Thanx, friend!

I will look this up, because it is pure hell trying to come up with a decent psy/goa track in FL if you dont have the right plugins!
You mentioned samples (wave). Could you tell me if you can also tweak those. Because i do have some samples but never bothered to check them out thoroughly. Also, where do you store external samples in FL? Every time i attempt to import something, the only available place for storage i am provided with, is the Beat Slicer, and as you know, in there, everything gets cut up into really small bits! :)
Could you please advise me on this!
And again, thank you ;)

Vanguard, Albino2 or 3, Legacy Cell, Minimoog V, Muon Tau Pro
most commonly used in my psy/goa tracks
vanguard being one of the most used for squeeks
also the sytrus and plastiCZ are very good !

external samples, just put them all together in a dir, place that dir in your FL file list, and just drag em in your sequencer, beatslicer is only for loops and vocals I guess
Howdie!

To use a sample (not a loop), insert a Sampler which is a default 'instrument' in FL Studio. As Masenka said, for loops, use Fruity Slicer; but only in case you want to cut it, else you better insert an Audio Clip.

You can tweak (let's say wave) samples by many ways. If you want to cut a sample, use Fruity Slicer. To add some flavour to your sample, you can use effect / fx plug-ins. Minor sample-tweaking can be done in the Sampler / Audio Clip itself.

Good luck m8!

There are tons of VSTz that would fit your needs. I would add Crystal in that list but you definately must have Sytrus... (I simply love this VST  )

DSP 2 is another nice VST and Sun Ra is perfect for soundscapes and atmospheres.

Good luck! :)

you can make really nice psy sounds with just fl's "3xOsc", load a good saw form into it, use hipass filter, automate a lot and add lots of effects to it (tubewarmer/distortion/amp, compressor, reverb, delays lots of them)

For thick mix:

VirSyn TERA 3.2 - for any sounds (well bass etc) - thick sound, greater possibilities of the syntheses.
