Simuanalog Guitar Suite is a great set of amp/stompbox recreations. You'll still have to take great care with whatever samples you find to get them to sound convincing though.
What a coincidence indeed.

Try Dethmetal soundfont. Not the best, but worth trying I guess.

Slayer sucks, big time (the VSTi, not the band tho)
Still, i can advice you to make a kind of ... mm... Well, you take some clean guitars samples and you just pass them thru some amp VST (Warp is quite good, tho its not the best yet)
Still... Try to make unpro sounding guitars and ask some guitarist to do them. It can be better.

1/ Guitar plugged in the amp
2/ Amp plugged in the line in of your soundcard
So you need a line out / emulated stuff / etc on your guitar amp.
Otherwise you can try to plug the guitar directly in the line in of your soundcard but i dunno if it works actually

There are 2 VST's I frequently use for this.
1. G-Amp Classic (for the more hard-rock kind of guitar) but black metal probably works perfect too.
2. Voxengo Boogex (for many kind of rock/metal guitars.
These are effects, not instruments, so you need to have a guitar sample too. I prefer a steal guitar to use for this. You probably can find nice soundfonts of these and convert them if necessary for your usage.
I found a nice steal guitar in a 200 mb free soundfont. Converted it to .iti with the shareware version of awave
You can ask me hundreds "why don't you" questions, answer will be, because it works that way too. - xTr1m |
