Secondly, I don't understand how people can claim that XMPlay would not sound the same as Impulse Tracker. I haven't found any anomaly since their latest versions. True there was a screw up earlier on, but after an email that was fixed.

I downloaded a current version of xmplay a few days ago - and it fucks up one of my tracks. same error that modplug makes, when IT plays it the way it should be played. Help you to understand a little? ;D

You say that, but without a reason why. I can't think of any reason why OpenMPT sucks in any way, cus it does exactly that what I need.

It would be the same as me saying: Ceekayed sucks donkey bawlz.

I think I need to loan Wallace's sarcasm meter every now and then. Though I still don't like OpenMPT because it butchers .it even more than the original mpt. Meh, they should've just made a new format for the original mpt already.

You only have to use the "extra features" if you want to, and there's a compatibility export in the latest builds.

I agree, or at least changed the suffix to .MPT or something
shallow work is the work that I do

.MPTM fileformat is planned for the next release :)

I already have an alpha build with this, true, for now its just a renamed .IT thingy, but we're planning to bring back .IT to the basics, and make .MPTM to be what .IT is now (with improvements). The ultimate goal is to make .MPTM an .xml compliant file so it can grow dynamically without problems.
