Help! I need quality ambiance sounds (lots of different wind sounds, river and waterfall sounds, cave and room ambiances, lava sounds). Searching the freesound project isn't easy, and when I layer a lot of sounds, it's hard to remember which I used (and who to credit). I'm basically looking for sample CD's to buy with high quality sounds, and a license that allows me to (after modifying and layering them) use the resulting sounds in isolation (that is .ogg files in the atmosphere folder of a game). The purpose is commercial (the game will be free, but I plan to sell expansion packs).
I'm not capable of creating samples which sounds realistic enough (just EQ'ing and reverbing a noise doesn't quite do the trick), and although nobody will recognize his samples if I layer a bunch of them (which people have already suggested), I want to do this completely legally - so buying a sample CD or buying downloadable samples online is the only reasonable option.
...but what to get?
