Every sunday on IRC, espernet's (irc.esper.net, damocles.esper.net, etc) #turtleshead, 21pm GMT.
One Hour Compo (OHC) in a nutshell:
You'll be given a samplepack and you have to make a song with the given samplepack within an hour (duh).
Formats allowed: it/xm/s3m/mod.
The other rules:
You may not add your own samples or edit the samples in the samplepack with any external programs. However, editing the samples inside the tracker is allowed. No VST/DX.
No names/artist handles on the songs. The compos are anonymous (though the ones that have been around for a long time know who made what just by listening).
Voting:
After an hour has passed from the release of the samplepack, you send your song to the host who makes a votepack out of all the entries and releases it. You, as a participant, have to download that votepack, listen to all the songs, order them from best to worst (leaving your own song out from the votes) and message your votes to the host. After all participants have voted, the host calculates the points and announces the resluts.
As simple as that. And alot of fun.
Oh, and espernet's #mod_shrine has ohcs on a daily basis, on random times, in case the turtleshead schedule does not fit you.
