I need your help. I've fallen in love with a VSTi called 'Massive'. However some of the presets in the newest version are chording.. and I've got no idea how to turn it off. Ofcourse, this makes the whole song completely offtune.. Besides, I know how to make chords myself! I've checked the whole interface 3 times, but I can't find a 'chord' button, and removing the pitch modulation doesnt help either. What am I missing?
Here are a few examples of previews that have this problem :
an-05
an-04

| Post the preset, so that I can have a look on it in Massive? My guess is that the oscillators are pitched up some semitones from eachother? Massive does not have a chord-feature, as far as I know. |

Well, I actually had the same first thought as you had and it turned out to be wrong. Yes, the osc where pitched, but when I turned it off, the sound had the same chording.
The preset that I'm using in an-05 is called: 'arrival from pluto'.. and the one in an-04 is called 'bad brum'.. You can find them in your preset folder since they are standard when you buy massive(or when you update your older version). There are also numerous other presets which have chording in it, you can search the preset folders on attribute.. There is a whole preset browser inside massive, so I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.. Just select the 'chord' button and load a preset from there, you'll hear that it's chorded.. (or placed under the wrong attributes).

Too bad i'm at school and do not have sound now, eh?
Arrival on pluto has a STEP-modulator modulating the pitch of oscillator 3 (MOD 8). It's amount is controlled with macro 8. Tried to remove this modulation?
I can't locate Bad Brum on my computer though. But it seems like all the chord-presets either relies on detuned oscillators, or some sort of arpeggiator (STEP-modulator) modulating the pitch on either one, or several oscillators. |

Owh, I'm sorry mate, I mentioned the wrong preset. Its not 'arrival on pluto', but 'a pad for pluto'. Anyway, the answer is yes, I removed the stepthingy, which didn't change a thing.

Someone on KVR suggested that the origal raw and unprocessed waveform has a chord itself... this would mean that I can't change the chording however..

Some of the oscillators(wavetables) includes chorded data. In this example the oscillator polysaw was used, which depending on the WT-position either sounds like two saws at different octaves, or well. fifths .
The solution was just to find another oscillator to substitute it with, and rerouting some of the modulations. |
