there are indeed several amp VST's and with a nice guitar sample, you're set.
Do note that the quality of the samples will say how well the quality of your guitar becomes, but its much easier to find good samples of a guitar. If I were you, I'd go for a steel guitar, like a diamond or so.
Then you can use any amp vst. (there are alot of them, all free)
My preference goes to:
G-Amp Classic
Voxengo Boogex
