The CTG Music Competition 2007.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the C.T.G. music competition, 2007!. You maybe wondering why I put periods after each letter of CTG? Simply really, each letter of CTG indicates a different category!. More on this later.
So, the rules of the compo are simple, compose a *new* song within the time limit. There are no limits on what software/hardware you use to achieve this - It's an ALL GEAR COMPO! The only limitation is your imagination*, oh, and the 5 minute maximum playing time for your tune! bwuahahah!  .
Submissions are welcome from 13th June, throughout to 13th July 2007. Any later than midnight EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME (most of East Canada, Eastern USA), will not be submitted into the compo.
* Imagination! Well, we're giving you a bit of help in this department, by having 3 categories. C.T.G. Each category has a picture, and it's your job to create a track which is an audio representation of that picture. You will be graded higher by the judges for creating a soundscape which we feel fits the picture best!. You will also be graded on how good your tune is.
There are 3 judges for this competition, all of whom are not allowed to enter. In regards to number of entries per artist allowed, it's simply 1 per category. So you can enter 3 songs in total, 1 per category.
Are we in suspense over the categories? No need to wait any longer...
C : C is for CITY, and this is for freestyle music. Anything you like, BUT make sure it is an audio representation about the picture!

T : T is for TURNTABLE! And yes, you've guessed it, We're expecting this to be a category for all the dance music!

G : G is for 'Guins. 'Guins? wtf is a 'Guin?. Some of you requested we have a themed compo about Penguins! so, 'Guins is shortened for Penguin, so that we could fit it into out C.T.G. plan!. This section, is somewhat novelty, although it doesn't have to be a novelty tune that you submit. Again this section is completely freestyle and the best audio representation of the picture below will come out on top!

File formats:
MP3, OGG, WMA naturally!
All tracked formats (XM, MOD, IT, etc...) must be able to play in XM Play. If yours
doesn't, then you will need to render it to MP3 format.
There will be a panel of 3 judges per song. Judges will give a score of 1-100 to each song,
1 being not very good, 100 being perfect. This will give each song an average score, which
will be used for the final gradings. There will be an additional 1-10 scoring one each tune
based on how well the song fits the picture.
Judges are : Analysis Randor and Slammy
We will not be able to enter ourselves.
Co-ops are welcome! A co-op entry will use both artists quota in said category.
So how to submit?! Simple, you can PM me (slammy) a link to your entry via the CTG PM
system, alternatively, if you dont have any way to host the file, you can email me
the file and I will host it for you. This is an absolute last resort though, so make
sure you exhaust all your options first before sending me the file. I will require a
short email beforehand, explaining why you need me to host the file.  .
Remember the most important rule... Have fun with this!.
