I'm using PC. Need it for those professional apps I need for farming. Nowadays you can install multiple paltforms to one machine, that's a pro for MAC. Otherwise I've just found it too time- and moneyconsuming to have multiple computers&platforms to maintain. Spare time is my minim factor, setting up a mac for music and pc for other stuff would lead situation where all my spare time goes to system maintaining
Besides, I'm too old to learn all the new stuff. Learning all the time about music and my profession, that should be enough This hammer is as good as the other hammer for my nails |

I recently started playing with a Mac platform. I must say Mac OS/X is very nice. So far it's proven stable as hell and it's tight integration with the hardware is something I really love.
Renoise runs on Mac OS/X so I'm more or less set for my work. The only thing I hate is lack of free software that would helkp me with tasks Renoise is not good at. Mostly I'm talking about mixing and recording. A good DAW would be a great thing and I'm waiting impatiently for a Mac version of Reaper. Otherwise I'll have to look around to buy Pro Tools, which will be very useful also for my Academy's job, as I study sound engineering and we do a lot of work in Pro Tools.
The current Intel Macs have a VERY small library of free VSTs, which is a big shame, but it will get better over time. Since I started using a Mac there already have been a few nice releases. I also managed to get Universal Binaries of MDA plugins from MDA himself, so it's not so bad. Generally I'm quite happy, I also hate Windows, so I know the feeling .

in the old days using a MAC would mean that you were confined to a set of hardware that typically cost alot more than their counterpart on the PC side would cost.
Also, programs were scarce and you'd often have to buy software to do the simplest things aswell..
However, today that's slowly changing, you're now able to run windows applications on a MAC machine, provided you go through the neccessary steps to do so, and I've heard that you can also run MAC apps on a windows machine aswell, which of course means that even if the MAC side is a bit limited still in the hardware department, you could also buy a PC machine and run OSX on it aswell.
I personally run a PC at home because it's the platform I'm accustomed to, and the platform in which I intend to work in later on as a network administrator or something along those lines. Plus my whole education has been geared towards that platform aswell.
So really, in the old days I'd say "MAC fucking sucks, seriously, get a computer WITHOUT limitations!" but today, I'll instead say "hey, whatever floats your boat man"

I know about it of course. LAst time I tried it it was unusable though. It was a long time ago, but generally I'd rather wait for some official release.

Because Macs are overly expensive and because Apple is pretty likely the most evil company in the universe. |

Are you serious???...."overly expensive"????...maybe you are still in the 80's.... ..you can get a MacBook with $1000...with webcam hi-definition included among many other thinghs....and above all, with the best OS ever...MAC OSX.....
and also "Apple is pretty likely the most evil company in the universe."????...
Yes sure...and Bill Gates is a generous benefactor.... ...
come on... we are talking about computers...not philosophy...;)
