If I were a cat, and fresh sardines where on offer - then my choice would be made too - it's sad though, and I understand what your going through, my cat Spike vanished about 17 years ago, never saw him ever again...... but as I mentioned earlier on this thread, my parents current cat, disappeared for a week, then turned up again... so she knew were her bread was buttered  . Perhaps your kitty will see the light too.

Holy crap. Sorry to revive old threads... but I got a message on my ansaphone last night from a woman who works at Cat Rescue Centre, saying she has my cat!!
Apparantly some old woman nicked him and had him for the last year, but she recently passed-away, and was given to the cat centre... they took him to the vet, got him scanned and our number came up cos we chipped him..
He is coming home tomorrow!!!
I cant bloody beleive it...

Good news 
Reminds me of my evil neighbour, an old granny who lurked one of our cats into her own house. She kept feeding the cat at set times and 3 weeks later our cat didn't return to us anymore. She accepted the dark side!
