I'm looking for a VST plug-in, samples, or something else that has the sound of dark, melodic violins. This is an example of what I mean (ignore the vocals in the foreground):

Well, there is a method for getting "darker" sounds overall, that usually just involves shelfing the high part of the synth/sample with an eq, try maybe 10-11kzh, but... the sample you sent seemed to have loads of reverb and stuff on it, will that need to be in the sample/synth or do you know how to use reverb?
Also I have a synth called stringz and stringz2, they can get a pretty good sound and they are free, they do take some skill to operate to get a "real" sound of course, as with any synth
