I was wondering what a chord progression actually is...

what is it??

is there a chord progression chart somewhere that tells me a list of chord progressions?

Also, whenever i try to use chords in my music,(strings) it sounds like crap.
Like, i have one note that sounds good, but when i add 2 more notes to it to make a chord, it sounds like crap. Why is that?

it could sound bad because of bad VSTs or samples, bad balance between the notes (dynamically) or badly composed chords. I would have to hear the output to know which.

Wikipedia on chord progressions

A small lesson on chord progressions

And a chart

Hope these help :)
