first thing is that you probaly wont find many people who seek for community on kazaa they just wanna download free stuff
|
Huh? So you don't want downloaders?
|
i dont think we need people who would just make some numbers bigger and not really doing anything else |
Audience is what many artists look for. |

Imagine the forum if every user posted as frquent as obScene does. |
Hmmm it would be... alive?
|
no, there would be 525 new topics each day, and it would be absolute chaos. It would also slow the site down considerably. |
Until a real problem appears, I woulnd't attack obScene for posting his thoughts here. I like it when the forum has some kinda movement. And you never know which initial question/comment may evoke an interesting discussion. Forum is here for us to talk.
Btw. maybe CTG should meet the popular demand and have something like 'articles' section? There, only useful and concrete information might be posted, if anyone would want to write those... |

you don't understand.. it isn't always good with activity.. there needs to be quality content. If everyone posted uninteresting things, random thoughs and ideas, I would stop read this forum. Many people would.
There is no way it should be necessary for one person to make a new topic each day.
I have been on alot of forums in my time, and at some point everyone realise that crap-posting, or spam makes a forum worse. That's just the way things work. |

if someone is prepared to write articles there is no problem for adding them.

I'm sorry for being so "American". I agree I do post a LOT ... but do you know that yesterday there were only 4 new threads all day !!!! We are not very active here.. and at least I am on the topic of music ... this is NOT spamming .
Anyway.. I do agree that I wouldnt want tons of people coming here and writing useless reviews and pointless spam.. so I kind of liked what Cooth was saying..have an artist only section!!
Another idea.. kind of like Dance Industries have a user login and an artist login. Or even have an entirely ( now this would be a lot of work ) different website that would share information with CTG... on the same server... something a little more easy to use where people could just download an mp3 by category and have the option to send private messages or maybe add commments only. They could view other 'artist reviews' .. but of course could not add to them. They could maybe have their own message board.. and we have ours. Maybe we could share the "General Discussion" or "Spam" boards. Also their download activity could reflect on the charts ( or not ).
Just some ideas that are probably too much work anyway. Does this make any sense.. an entirely different website directly linked to CTG is every way..
What think you? |

if im honest this doesnt make that much sense to me. Firstly we do not plan to have 2 websites since just one takes quite enought time i think best way to get what you wrote above is to simply take part in 2 different websites, like ctg and united trackers or something like that. But actualy i worked a bit on spliting artists from members well you will see it soon.

That sounds cool.
I dont know alot about web-design other than HTML.. but it would seem simple to have a few extra pages of script that looked and feeled different but read from the same files that CTG does... but then again I wouldnt be the one having to do it so I won't argue. Besides I love CTG I just WISH it were more active!
Just throwing ideas out |

dude, we have good activity going on. couple days ago i saw like 7 topics up on one day. for our size, thats a lot. and besides, i rarely make new topics, like to finish old topics before we start new ones. u post way too much, getting bored of ur stuff. its all for attention i know.
I tried buying a candleholder at the store, but they didn't have any. So i bought a cake. |

HA.. not tring to get attention... just I am obsessive compulsive and when I get into one hobby I am ALL About it. Im off and on CTG all day long as well as working on music.. and downloading samples !!!! I just get way into everthing I do.. maybe after a month or so I will cool down but as of now I am trying my best to get heard as well as hear and learn from other artists.
You see I have been doing MIDI alone, in solitude since 1997 ! I had a few websites up but never got more than a few hits and maybe a total of 10 comments in all those years. I mailed off CD's only to hear NOTHING except one nice letter saying they would keep it on file!
My point.. this is the first time I have ever been able to put out music and immediately hear what people like/dislike about it. I have been on a high for the past month and Im not gonna be coming down for some time
Hope I dont get on everybody's nerves.. but I find this fresh and exciting.. I guess you guys are just used to the scene and noobs like me probably get on your nerves. I understand. Try to take me lightly |

Mordecai: I do understand. Yes, what you say is true, too much crap is bad. But I don't think several topics created by obScene isn't that much of a tragedy. I don't think the forum will collapse and I have no difficulties browsing it. I've been into several forums too and I saw real shit-talk... but here... nah.
Quality content... here we go again. The forum is public, it's for all of us and the content is created by us - more or less random people, not just for you or me or anybody in particular. You can't demand all people to post this and not that, or post wise and valuable messages only.
If you think the forum has low quality, you can either accept it and seek just for messages of interest to you or contribute actively to give it more valuable content. Complaining is pointless.
Anoxxia: should I remind you who was quite an active poster on HM forum, who for example started the beer topic?
We all had good fun about it and nobody complained somehow...
ObScene: no, you definitely don't annoy everyone.
Ugh, just enjoy the fun, that's what it's about... |
