Yes,
Me too. This is a spammer and the user should be banned from CTG and the internet ASAP. Will try to do some "sniffing" to find out who's behind all this. This is quite irritating and the CTG admin team should "kick" that user ASAP !!! |

If you think PM spam is bad, check out the private comments/guestbook spam too...
Also, I just spotted a topic in which apparently spam bots were spamming eachother 
CTG is apparently being devoured by spammers

The easiest way to stop a spammer is by coding in more captcha systems, of course, this won't stop the human spammer which does it by hand. However, if one adopted a one month vacancy period in which you weren't able to interact via messages/forum posts/reviews/review reports etc, then you'd also have a viable way of stop the human spammers too, this has the drawback of having legit people having to wait a month too, which would scare away some of the newer arrivals :/

I think the best way to rid yourself of spam is to stop reading messages and mail completely. Sure, then it's impossible to have any form of interaction with other people on the internet, but to be honest you won't be able to tell the difference. Also, add http://* to your firewall/adblocker of choice.
In fact, this is all part of an operation I'm running on the side. I call it "Operation Liberate the Internet", and it's a series of actions needed to ensure the personal freedom we all enjoy while also guaranteeing the rights of various copyright holders. Currently I'm working on a piece of hardware that will physically disconnect any computer device from the Internet while at the same time completely disable any form if input/output/activity to/from/on the computer in question securing all data. The process involves a complicated virtualisation of some well known medical phenomena such as amnesia and coma. |

I've actually written a script that does spam checks. It's currently gathering data from several websites and works with a static script. It already kills over 90% of the spam entries and has only identified 1 non-spam message as spam thus far. I'll be implementing an algorithm that identifies common spam characteristics some day so it will adapt to what data it's being fed. Later on people can mark undetected messages as spam, or falsely blocked messages as non-spam to improve the filters behavior.
It's implementation takes about 3 lines in most scripts  .
However I don't think it is fit for CTG just yet. For now it blocks input as soon as there is more than one URL in there hehe.
