I don't know how much disk space there is left for/on CTG. 'Nor do I know how much is taken when someone creates a page and gets they're account created. But, instead of having 50M unused accounts, we should delete them. Like the ones with no songs, and the user hasn't been seen for years. I think it would probably save a lot of disk space. Chances are, people who signed up four years ago and never came back, aren't going to login again. There should be a 90 day limit until you login or your account gets deleted.

For example:http://www.ctgmusic.com/artist.php?id=100

He's not going to login again.

What's your opinion on this?

OH YEAH, AND PLEASE, OH PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE SUBJECT OUT OF NOWHERE!

Now, Im not to keen on the example account that you gave, because personally I don't think that would be to much of a worry since the user does have comments and downloads signifying it was a contributor to the community.

However, I am happy you brought this up because I must say I agree completely.
Accounts that are old and unused should be deleted.
This has many benefits:
-to name a few...
-Remove unwanted, suspicious, malicious, advertisement accounts.
-Remove temporary accounts (sign up to download a CTG mix and hasn't logged in since 1208)
-Most importantly it would clear up the site as a whole making life easier :D

There are many accounts that have..No Songs, No Comments/reviews/activity etc, and have not seen action since early 00's

The work clearing that may be more than the effort it's actually worth. I mean, I don't think a few html pages and comments take up that much space. Although, I could see how it'd be helpful, but frankly, I'm fond of my old account and if I log in, my history gives me memories :P lol... I'm just way to sentimental :P haha

I agree with both system and sentiments. Im not sure if CTG has a system that could easily detect and remove accounts...yet.
And as for keeping an old account. I would not vote for deleting these either, for the simple reason that ones old account contains comments, songs, reviews. So regardless of the last seen activity , the activity and music is still there regardless and should remain for eternity.
My brain has unlimited storage space.
but no RAM what so ever.

Well, now that I think of it, some usernames my attract new people here to CTG. Cuz they might type an artist name they like, and the first result would be here. They might get obseesed w/ the site and sign up.

well I joined in '04 and haven't logged in since late '05, but I am glad I haven't been deleted, as my joy of making music has been revitalised, and the only way I could remember where this site was, was by googling my name.

(first thing on the list of things to do for me is upload some new stuff, as all my old stuff have dead links, and were rubbish.)
