There is nothing easy about creating music. I'm actually a hobbyist producer. I use FL Studio 7. It's going to take more than just a day or two to get good at it.
But you can check out http://www.warbeats.com for their video tutorials. That's one of the best FL tutorial websites around.
Eventually you'll have to upgrade your software, if you want to be a serious producer. Music is NOT cheap. I bought my AKG Perception 100 condenser mic. for $100 (retail is $200) and my M-Audio AudioBuddy mic. pre. for $80 (retails at ~$130). So if you want to be serious, you'll have to fork over some money. =P
I do recommend anyone to start with FL Studio. It's a simple piece of software, though it may not seem that way to you right now. =P LoL. But just be glad you didn't try to start with DigiDesign's ProTools or Apple Logic Pro. LoL.
I've only been doing music for a few years. I have to upgrade my software or spend money on a GOOD plug-in before I can do anymore music. I'm already pushing FL to its extremes. LoL.
Don't let anyone tell you that you can't get some good sounds out of it. Check my sources for my MySpace Music page. The only song on there is one that my bro and I did, and I produced it using FL Studio. That just goes to show that FL Studio can do some pretty amazing things.
Anyhow, check out the sources for more tutorial links. Google is your best friend. =D And my MS Music page.
If you need anymore help just send me an e-mail: the_dadd_from_tn2005@yahoo.com. Or you can IM me on Yahoo! Messenger.

you dont need high quality equipment to be a good producer. You just need to be good and have a sequencer with some sample libraries. Practice.

If you look at the top DAWs they all offer everything you need to create professional music. You don't need fancy hardware either... I have a mic and keyboard, and they make my life easier big time, but by no means would I be stopped from creating music if I didn't have them.
Find a DAW you like, and then master it. Then you will really only be limited by your own musical potential. |

btw to the noob: DAW is digital audio workstation. It can be hardware or software, but its most commonly refered to when thinking of sequencers like Cubase, Logic, Sonar, cakewalk etc, or FL/studio
