Did anyone else notice that BOTB removed all his songs from CTG.. changed his account to "member" and posted some pic 'disrespecting' the rest of us?
I guess he is too good for us now ?

| You started to miss him, right? Well, he left a few weeks ago and he has his reasons. It is his decision and I respect it. |

| lets not make that much of a deal about this. I've noticed this too, he will have good reasons for leaving. He was a respectable and reasonable guy imo. |

You'd think they would at least spell trance right!!!!
BTW the name of the pic is called "cov_beyond_lame" if that gives you any indication of his "reasons".
Can somebody say "concieted" ? |

I personally suspect Boomerang is slightly over-sensitive about some things. I don't know the exact reasons, but the message says what it says. Beyond charts, ratings and tracne...
It's one's personal, individual thing...
I don't care about charts. I was against ratings in reviews and I still am. I don't like trance. That's no reason to put "lofty" mottos and remove my music, artist info etc... I'm here to share my music, not to tell everybody to think like me... or maybe he got into some quarrels with CTG people - in that case the message is irrelevant.
Whatever the reasons are, even though I respect his decision, I don't like this style of leaving, it's rather pretentious to my taste... :/ |

Botb is just not active on ctg, but he is still in the scene, you can find his links to his homepage, you can read some news from him.
I think we should not figure out why he left, I suggest to ask him personally, if you are interested in. |

I dont see why people would see charts and ratings as a bad or "lame" thing at all. I dont see this system as a solid machine to tell me what kind of song is good or bad and how I should write a song.. but Its just a very useful tool I use to improve in my "musical adventure", ok that sounded gay, but it's true.
My first song has a rating of like 5.6 or something. I got over 10 reviews with ideas I had never even thought of and things I didnt even know about. My next song broke 6.. my next broke 7.. and so on. In these past 2 months I have learned how to write and record better because of the excellent people on CTG. They spent their time downloading my music and spent even more time telling me what they thought about it. I dont think some people realize how precious this system is!!!
I have said this before and I will say it again... I spent the last 7 years writing music in the dark with almost nobody to show it to. The US is not full of people who like this kind of music and its hard to get people to give honest opinions.. and its even harder to find someone who can help you!!! Here we are so damn lucky that we can share and exchange ideas/information/techiniques with eachother instantly.. and we are so blessed to have people willing to spend hours and hours of their time reviewing other people music. DO YOU PEOPLE not realize how damn great this is????
And to leave CTG because you think you are "beyond" all this.. I'll tell you his head must be stuck up way "beyond" his asshole. Excuse my language but this upsets me greatly. |
